After finding out the shocking news of Darcy's proposal, I was even more amazed at Elizabeth Bennet's answer and reaction. How could a woman, especially in her position, deny a man like Mr. Darcy? What qualities of his does she not finding suitable? I'm simple amazed.
I am sorry to disappoint you with my rejection of Mr.Darcy's propsal. I thought that you would be happy that I refused his hand in marriage, because then you would be the one to marry him. And as for why I refused him, isn't it obvious? We have nothing in common for one and then theirs the fact that I don't love him! Just because he is good looking and charming doesnt mean that I'll marry him
ReplyDeleteHow right you are, Caroline. The circumstances my daughter are in are simply unsuitable for the single life. Maybe you should have reconsidered your decision and thought about the bigger picture. Any other woman would have been flattered, and all you have to say is that you share no common interests? How shallow of you Elizabeth, for, as we all know, opposites attract.
ReplyDeleteMy sisters "circumstances" are not to be questioned by irrelevant bystanders, nor are such opinions welcomed. There is a fine line between healthy pride and unattractive arrogance, a line Mr. Darcy and haute women such as yourself seem to blend. As i encourage Elizabeth to follow her heart, wherever that may take her, i believe, contrary to the opinions of most, Mr. Darcy is unfit of my sister. She is intelligent, outspoken, and beautifully unique. So, dear Caroline, i entertain the idea of you and Mr. Darcy just as you do, you two would make a fantastically prideful pair.
